The Bishkek Press Club launches its website at http://www.bpc.kg.English version of the website is under construction.
Bishkek Press Club is a newly launched project of the Institute for Public Policy, supported by the Open Society Institute, the UK Department for International Development, the OSCE Centre in Bishkek and the UK Embassy in Almaty.
The Bishkek Press Club will provide informational and educational support to journalists and media outlets; serve as a gathering point for journalists and host a variety of journalism-related social events, with specific attention to young professionals.
In the premises of the Club, series of practical trainings and workshops foryoung reporters, editors and media managers will be provided aimed atimproving professional standards of journalism. The project will provide a strong policy component through regular roundtable discussions and follow-up activities after significant news events. The BPC will also provide fixing service for foreign journalists and researchers.
